Thanksgiving Tree

In honor of Thanksgiving next week, I decided to have the boys gather sticks from outside and create our very own thanksgiving tree. We used the sticks we collected, an old vase, Japanese washi tape, and homemade paper leaves with labels to make our tree.

was thankful for and we printed them out using a label maker. It was such a blessing to hear his heart! I also had him punch the letters into the label maker to build the word. This was a great lesson!

Thankful Tree Fun!

This was such a great activity that included a nature walk, word building, taping, and heartfelt words. The boys loved it!

Preschool Halloween Party

When I enrolled Henry into a two day preschool class I never intended to get so involved. Well, here i am the parent room leader and having lots of fun, with my child, planning our first Harvest Party. We decided to make goodie bags for all 15 classmates. Stay tuned for more photos of the actual party.

Henry stuffed the little pumpkin baggies with halloween stickers and candy. We then made personalized Halloween tags and tied them on.

Halloween Activities

We've been doing lots of family outings since our move to Michigan. This particular pumpkin came from a local apple orchard. We added a personal touch by inserting Spiderman(my sons' favorite superhero) pieces into him. We got the drill out and made holes and Henry pushed them in. Lots of fun!

We recently made a trip with his preschool class to the pumpkin patch. We decided to make Henry's a bit more unique by allowing him to paint it as he wished. Using colors black and yellow he had fun mixing, painting, and watching the color change to green! :)

After watching the Scholastic Video Dem Bones we thought it would be a great way to bring it to life using Q-tips and glue! Henry loved singing along.

Learning about Length

Here is our first lesson on length.using playdoh beads and toothpicks we had some length fun!

Teeth Lesson

T is for TeethFirst we read Clarabella's Teeth by An Vrombaut. A terrific easy read.

Definitely motivated Henry to brush his teeth more.
This was LOADS of fun! We would roll the dice and whatever number we got he had to add that amount of marshmellow teeth to the mouth. So fun! I just cut out an oval shape from red construction paper and drew little square boxes where the teeth go. Henry had to glue each marshmellow on. So FUN!

Flossing! Using a lego and playdoh, this was a great way to show the "how and why" to flossing teeth.
very quick try himself. overall, very fun lesson but think he would appreciate it a lot more in a few months.

Robot Fun

Like many boys, Henry digs robots.

one of Henry's favorites at the moment, Zoe and Robot.
we did a little mt. pillow ourselves.thanks to Kidssoup, we were able to make a robot using square shapes.

Salad Spinner Art

Salad spinner art was a easy, clean, and fun activity for Henry.
He added a few drops of each color. I had him push down the spinner a few times. This was the finished product. He thought it was super neat! It was a cool way of showing him the blend of colors also.
We decided to add a ball to the mix and spin! Super cool.
Finished product. Awesome piece of art! After it dried we hung it up on his art wall.

Brooklyn Children's Museum

One of the perks to living in NYC is all the fabulous museums. Although the Brooklyn Children's Museum is a trek to get to we were very impressed! We all enjoyed it very much.
