Henry's favorite from the Thanksgiving Day Parade

Graduation of size and color

I bought some rocks at my local Michaels store to paint and create a game with. i am sure that will come soon. Meanwhile, we took them out of a cold day and lined them up. I, of course, had to help in this but a great way to teach Henry about graduation of size.

I adore Kid-O toys. This is Matching Shades. "Encourages children to recognize gradated colors and to distinguish subtle differences by matching circle to appropriate color shade." This wasn't too much of a challenge to Henry but it is was a way to teach him "lighter and darker".

beginning lessons on hand writing

Using popsicle sticks and pebbles my son received a lesson on handwriting.

Sorting Pom Pom's with hands and clothespin

I took an old school muffin tin and laid some pom pom's before my son. It was natural for him to sort them! I even tried having him sort by using a clothespin but it was a bit difficult. So, he finished sorting them by color using his hands. Fun, super quick, and easy activity for your child.

Using a Dropper --26 months

26 months. Taking a medicine dropper and food coloring mixed with water, Henry went about laying drops in circles. I used a sheet of wax paper and drew circles with a permanent marker. I had him aim his drops inside the circles. Once the activity was finished, I tried teaching him to use the dropper to suck the water back in but he wasn't didn't quite understand. Overall, a good activity that we both enjoyed.

Block Transfer Using Tongs

A very easy activity using plastic tongs, some blocks, and a two bowls. he simply transferred blocks from one bowl to another. It continues to surprise me how things as simple as this entertain him. I am starting to think he is more excited from the cheering and attention i give him.

Spoon Friends

Spoon Friends. I got this idea from my most favorite craft book called Kid Made Modern. Henry loved it and still plays with his spoons to this day! :) I liked the idea so much that we used it in his preschool coop (Friends Theme) and had the kids make their own.

Penny Tossing

Using coffee filters and pennies Henry and I played a game. We simply tossed pennies into the filters and counted them afterwards. As he gets older I will make it a bit more competitive by asking "who got the most in the filter"? As for now it's a great concentration and math skill for him.

we started with him doing it close and as he gets comfortable with the idea we'll place him further away.
Accomplishment.

Color Matching

I got this idea from another blog and fell in love with the idea. You pick up 2 of each paint samples from your local hardware/paint store and clip one to a clothes pin and save the other for matching. You could also teach your child the graduation of color while they are doing this activity as well.

Bubble wrap mosaic

This was such an easy cool craft to do with my son. He really enjoyed it.
