i checked out this book called Science Play from the library. It is the beginning discoveries for 2-6 year olds. Henry and I did our first experiment using some old soda bottles, water, and food coloring.

I had Henry tap each bottle and tell me which one is "higher pitched" than another. I don't know if he quite understood and begin treating them like drums! :)

bang bang.

Blowing into each bottle reversed the effect. The one that was the highest was now the lowest. Again, i don't know if he understood but thankful i exposed him to the idea.

This activity required very little time and little clean up. It entertained my son for about 20 minutes start to finish. Overall, we enjoyed it.
